Here at RZ Termite & Pest Control, we believe you deserve to be comfortable in your own home, and we also know that that comfort is hard to find when you have to share that home with cockroaches. If you have a cockroach problem, you can always turn to us for professional cockroach control services. However, there are also steps you can take to reduce the cockroach presence in your home before the problem gets that serious, and in this article, we will be going over three of them.

Three Home Cockroach Control Methods

  1. Make Your Own Roach Bait- One method you can use for cockroach control is to make your own bait for these nasty insects. Simply dice a few onions and sprinkle them with baking soda. Place the bait in a shallow dish wherever you have noticed roach activity. Once the roaches eat it, the baking soda will create a gas in their stomachs that will kill them.
  2. Use Boric Acid- Another DIY cockroach control method is to sprinkle boric acid around your home in the places where you’ve seen roach activity. Boric acid is harmless to people and pets, but deadly to roaches. When the cockroaches come into contact with it, the boric acid will act on their digestive systems and kill them.
  3. Seal Any Gaps- A third strategy for cockroach control is to prevent these insects from getting into your home in the first place. To do this, check your home carefully for gaps–the most likely places to find roach entry points is around your doors and windows, or in gaps around flooring or in the walls. Seal these gaps up with caulk to stop any more roaches from getting inside.

If you’d rather not deal with cockroach control on your own (and we can’t say we blame you!), give us a call, and we’ll take care of these pesky insects for you.
